The Old Prin tworks

The old print works

506 Mosley road Balsall Heath
Big space available from Wednesday 4th till Sunday. We can take the exhibition down on Monday. Nice space with variety of backgrounds. Some walls are very smooth, look new and clean some are a bit scruffy but they might work for some documentary work or some black and white images. It is not as big as Custard Factory but maybe that's better because if we wont have many people it will still look busy:)

We chose this venue for our exhibition mainly because it was most affordable.  £40 per day was much cheaper than we anticipated. The prise of spaces we checked in city centre was starting from £150 per day and ending at £500.
The prise of The Old Print works was low probably due to location. Moseley is quite easy to get to but the building itself is not very visible. On top of that, there is not private parking or any parking space for that matter. People have to park on the side roads but that can be awkward too as Moseley is a usually busy so there is much space around for people to leave their cars.
The other reason why the rent was so cheap is that the particular room we were offered is most awkward room in terms of the wall space. On every single wall there are either doors or windows. I personally do not think this place is use much for photography exhibitions.
What I like about The Old Print Works was the vibe this place is giving. It is very artist friendly environment. The Cafe downstairs looks like a large homely kitchen. Very worm friendly and relax atmosphere. Perfect for people who just starting their artistic journey and do not really want any pressure from professional and overwhelming environment.
